SmallRig Lightweight Fluid Video Head Overview
- The SmallRig Lightweight Fluid Video Head is a compact head designed for camera rigs weighing up to 11 lb, making it suitable for still photographers and video makers who want to shoot in remote locations or remain as inconspicuous as possible when shooting. It features an indexed pan axis useful for creating panoramic stills or repeatable video camera pans. The head is Arca-swiss QR system compatible and comes with a quick release plate, allowing it to be used directly with optional Arca-Swiss cages and L-brackets.
- You can adjust the camera balance back and forth by sliding the quick release plate in the camera platform and by turning the side knob to adjust the camera platform, which is useful when using large lenses or mounting the camera horizontally. The head comes with a removable telescopic handle that supports a 360° swivel, plus one 1/4"-20 threaded hole to fit a magic arm for such devices as a monitor, a microphone, an image transmitter, or a camera. A built-in Allen wrench is included for removing or installing the quick release plate.
Pan and Tilt
- The pan and tilt axes have independent locks and fixed drag.
Mounting
- The head features a 3/8"-16 tripod mounting hole, a 1/4"-20 accessory mounting hole, and two removable 1/4"-20 captive screws in the quick release plate.
Pan Handle
- A removable telescoping pan handle mounts on the side of the head and can be positioned as needed.
Quick Release Plate
- A standard Arca-type quick release plate is provided for fast mounting and unmounting.
